Hurricane Hazel

What a role model should be: Strong, fearless, leader, defying all odds and out-lasting any competitor.

Hazel McCallion has been Mayor of Mississauga (the 6th largest city in Canada) for 31 years... thiiiiiiirty oooone... that is remarkable.

No one bothers to run against her, and at 89 years of age she still does not see retirement anytime in the near future.

Yes, she has had her fair share of scandal, and likes a hard glass of Jack Daniels once 'n awhile.. but don't we all. I am convinced this is her fountain of youth... to bathe in the sweet stickiness of JD.

On another note, she has build, rebuilt and is the cornerstone of the prosperous years in Mississauga's growth spurt. She is a legacy. And instead of reading celebrity magazines and following the cast of Jersey Shore on twitter, the younger generations should stay informed on figures of this stature, as they are few and far between.

(and yes... I am from Mississauga.)
